Recommended operation is to always use 441.300(+) with 100 Hz CTCSS in order to take full advantage of the receiver voting and transmitter simulcast system.

If there is ever a problem with the simulcast system or microwave links, each site can be accessed directly using an individual standalone CTCSS tone. Also a good way to test and see which sites you might be hearing from a particular location.
